Look another chapter to this one after what 8 months……… well blame it on writers block… I seemed to have gotten lost somewhere and couldn’t get my way back here to this particular story.. And I hopefully will fill the plot holes in this story at least up to this chapter…. And sheesh why didn’t anyone tell me I changed Joe’s name to James???? Ok his name is James Joseph. We’ll find out more about him in this chapter… and why he used two names…………. Sheesh… I can tell haven’t been to this story or a long time……..lol!

Chapter 7

All Hilde could think as she lay in the back of the van as it bounced along was how she wished her hand were free so she could reach up and strangle that little SOB in the front seat. As she cursed him she also berated herself, thinking how foolish it had been to trust him. She twisted her wrists, trying to loosen the ropes that held them fast, but she was doing was scraping the skin off of them. She tried to sigh but the gag kept her breath in her mouth. She looked over at the still prone Sally, hoping they hadn’t killed her.

“So, Miss Hilde, What do you think Duo will do , Well, that is if he’s still alive after the building fell on him, Now that I have you?”
Hilde glared up at him, unable to speak.

He grinned at her and turned back to the front.
Hilde closed her eyes and thought of the last thing he had said to her. She sighed as Sally grunted and moved slightly. Hilde looked up and looked into her friend’s face. Sally looked back.
Sally knew what Hilde would be thinking and she simply nodded, telling her what she needed to know. She saw the girl relax, then tried to assess the situation they were in. She looked up and out of the window she would see, watching the street lights zipping by. The lights were getting thinner as they continued to drove down the road. She slumped. They were in big trouble and did anyone even know they were gone?

Heero growled as he typed in the kid’s name. An alarm went off in his head as soon as all the information came up. The innocent act he put on wasn’t so innocent. But it seemed there was a light at the end of the tunnel as he continued to read. This boy was an important player in all of this. The son of the man in charge. James Joseph Staler . Son of a b*. Everyone was taken in by him, including himself. Heero’s eyes widened as he continued to read the medical reports. A clone? Yes and no. A biologic repeat. Not quite a clone but yet yes. He frowned as he continued to read the jargon. An enhanced human clone. Born from a test tube, subjected to many odd tests, given poisons to gain immunity to them including cyanide. This kid should have been dead , but yet he survived all these tests , to be come stronger. Who were these people and why did they want all of them dead?

He had to get to the bottom of this one way or another. As he clicked on another page he rubbed his chin in thought. He knew now the threat was not against Relena, and that put his mind at ease. He casually continued to read as he scrolled down the page, stopping at the parts that caught his eye. He stopped and scrolled back up when he read the caption. “BREAKTHROUGH” it seemed to be a story only for the people in the “black wolves” talking about the boy and the newest way they had made him suffer. He wondered what else they had done to the kid and how much of it would back fire on them in the future. Finally at the bottom was a small caption stating the reason why they wanted the Gundam pilots dead. It was a simple phrase consisting of a few words.

In loving memory of my family who were killed by the Gundam Pilots in the war. I shall have my revenge for that and for the fall of OZ.

Now to figure out who was behind it all and to find out where the girls had been taken and why.

Wu Fei stomped through the medical unit, his anger seething . He had to wait for Maxwell as he tried to maneuver the crutches. If it hadn’t been such a dire situation, he would have laughed at the ocward way Duo handled them. He stood impatiently by the elevator as Duo tried to catch up.

“Maxwell, if you don’t move faster, I’ll get you a wheel chair.”
He growled as Duo’s face lit up. “Really? A motorized one? I could do wheelies!”

“Get in the elevator. We have women to find and terrorists to stop.”
Duo said nothing as he got into the elevator. WuFei glanced over at his friend, noting the look on his face. “It’s not your fault. We were all taken in by the boy.”

“Yeah, I suppose.”

“Duo, we’ll find them.”

Duo nodded as he looked at the dirty carpet of the elevator.

“Um, do you have a plan, Wu Fei?”
WuFei shook his head, “No, I don’t at this time. We are going to see Une and Heero.”

Sally squirmed against her bonds. They were tight but not tight enough to bind. She twisted her wrists. She looked across the van to her friend. She could see her shivering in the semi darkness. She growled as she twisted her wrists more. Why would any one kidnap a pregnant woman? What game was this little bastard playing? When she found out she would pull the trigger herself. She could hear a little of the conversation from the front seat, but only bits and pieces of it. She caught a bit about a pregnant woman and Maxwell’s girl. Then they mentioned her name and that she ( Sally) was a medical doctor and would be an added addition to the group. The other man had laughed and made the comment about good for experiments. The boy laughed, too, but it seemed different than the other’s laugh. Mirthless, and dry. Sally twisted at her bonds with more effort. If she could get them looser before they got to the hidden base, maybe she could get them out of there. She felt the van slow down and then make a sharp turn. She felt herself roll a little as it turned. She heard a thump as Hilde hit the side of the van. Sally growled . She worked harder on her bonds. She had them almost loose when the van started to slow down. She twisted harder but they would not let go.
She blinked as the side door and the two men pulled Hilde to her feet. She looked across the van as one man climbed in to get her while James stood out side with a gun to Hilde’s head. It was like he was daring her to try something. Sally sighed and let herself be lead inside the compounded with Hilde.

She blinked as they were lead into a bright warm room. There were three men standing waiting for them. “Welcome, Ladies. My name id Gregory Tulson.” The tall blonde man in the black suit greeted them. Sally looked at him and tried to memorize h is face. He was good looking, it an odd sort of way. His chin was sharp , and his cheek bones high. His eyes although shaded by his hair were a bright almost ice blue. She shivered slightly at his cold stare.

She glanced over the other two men but they were indistitive.. Almost like they had no faces and were invisible. They had on dark green uniforms that were almost like the Preventers. They stood tall and straight , with their hands on their guns, as though they were expecting trouble.
“Fuck off,” Sally growled after the gags were moved from both girls. She nodded towards the armed guards. “Are you expecting trouble from us?”

The guards looked at their boss then at the two women.

Hilde glared at all the men.

“Well, I apologize for the rough treatment, but this was the only way.”

“Only way for what? Hilde asked in a sarcastic tone.
Sally glared at them, “What is the point of kidnapping a pregnant woman? What are trying to do here? Who the hell do you work for?”
“Come, we’ll settle you in and get you some food. I wish no harm to you. I will tell you what you ask. You are only bait.”

“Bait?” Hilde whispered.

“Yes, for the pilots.”
Hilde shook her head and rolled her eyes, allowing her anger to creep into her words. , “What is it with all there crack pots? We want revenge on the world, let’s get the Gundam Pilots! Woo hoo! That will fix the whole thing.”
One of the men with guns stepped close to the pregnant woman and stuck the gun in her face.
He growled at her. “You do not speak that way in front of him.”
“ Oh just Fuck off! What are you going to do, hit me? GO ahead! I‘m not afraid of you.” She retorted back at him. “A man who would hit a woman is no man. Especially an unarmed woman, with her hands tied.”

He raised his gun and would have hit her except Gregory shouted at the guard.
“ENOUGH!” He shouted. He stepped over and pulled Hilde to him, and grasped Sally’s arm. “ Come. You are my guests for now.”
Sally looked up at him, “For now?” She questioned.

He did not answer her query.

Sally growled quietly to her self as they were pulled along, with the two guards in green trailing along behind. He lead them down a long corridor to a door painted black with a card key slot on it. He pulled a card out of his pocket and swiped it. The door clicked and he pushed it open. HE pulled both of the women inside and pulled out a knife to cut their bonds. He pulled the door shut as he stepped out of the room. Hilde went to the door, rubbing her wrists. She reached out for the knob and tried to turn it.

“HEY!” She shouted, “IF WE’RE YOUR GUESTS WHY ARE YOU LOCKING US UP?”

“For your protection.” Came the muffled reply.

“LIER!” She stepped from the door and muttered, softly, “Ass.”

She looked over at Sally who was looking over the room. She eyed her friend, “Looking for a way out?”
“Yes.”

Hilde looked the room over. It was a small room. It had two beds with the headboards pushed up against one wall. There was a closet and a small bath. The other wall held two dressers, and a full length mirror. The rest of the alls were void of anything. Hilde went to the dressers and pulled open a drawer. She was surprised to find clothes in them. She pulled out a shirt that was her size.

“Sal….. Do you suppose they planned to take us all a long?”
Sally looked over at her. “What do you mean?”
“Look in these drawers.” She said as she pulled open drawer after drawer.

“What the hell?”

Sally came over and pulled out articles of clothing. Her face got dark. “Damn it. We were so taken by that brat.”

“Yeah,” Hilde sighed as she dropped down on one of the beds. “I was worse than you. I trusted him, took him to our home and Damn it!” She swore as she sat up. “Duo’s been hurt and I’m here. I didn’t even get to see him.”
“He’s ok Hilde. Broke his ankle, and some bumps and bruises, but he’s ok. He even accused me of groping him.”
Hilde laughed as she laid back on the bed. “Ok, I feel better knowing he’s ok. But, Sally, how are we going to get out of here?” She asked, putting the emphases on how.

Sally looked over the room again and shook her head. “Well, we won’t get out of this room, but maybe we can clout one of those guards….. When they come to feed us.”
Hilde sat up again and smile. “Ok! Let’s do it!”

“Ok, but I want to find out some stuff from this guy before we get out of here…let’s stick around long enough to gather information about this place.”
“Yeah, then we can take ‘em down!”

WuFei waited impatiently for Heero and Lady Une to come into the small conference room. He glanced over at Maxwell who was flopped on a chair with his broken leg propped up on another chair. He had his eyes closed and His arms crossed over his chest. The expression on his face was not of one who was sleeping.

WuFei turned away, knowing the desperation Duo must feel. His girl friend kidnapped and pregnant.

He tapped his fingernails on the table , then he stood up. He moved back and forth across the room. Duo cracked an eye and said , softly. “Wu, you know I’m the one with the nervous energy so why don’t you just sit down.” His voice rose one octave higher. “be fore you drive me crazy.”
“Shut up, Maxwell.”
Duo shifted his leg and moved slightly on the chair. “Hey, is that any way to talk to some one who did save your life?”

WuFei glared at him as he sat down.

“I know you’re worried. I am , too.”

Wu Fei frowned as he glanced back at Duo. He sighed and slumped further into the chair. “I just feel so worthless, because I am unable to do anything.”
“I know.” Came the reply.

The room lapsed into silence as both men got lost in their own thoughts.

After a few minutes the door opened and Une stepped in. She looked at the two men sprawled in the chairs. She could see the worry and concern written all over their faces. She sighed and continued t o the table, pulling a chair and sitting down.

“Did you find anything?” WuFei asked ,sitting up from his chair.

Une shook her head. “Heero sound some strange information but nothing that could help.”
“So what do we do now?” Duo asked still slumped in his chair.

“Wait.”

“Damn it.” WuFei muttered under his breath, and crossed his arms.

Duo said nothing as he sat in his chair and closed his eyes.

Une looked at both of them feeling as helpless as they did.

Duo sighed audibly. “Are you sure there isn’t anything we can do?”

“Nothing until we know why and where.”

Heero growled as he hit the key again. He had to access the account. He knew it would be the key to the whole plot. He typed in another word….. Domination. It denieged him access. He looked at the papers he had printed out. He glared at them, then typed in genetic manipulation. The page opened and his eyed widened at what he read. His face became hard and void of all emotion as he continued to read. He growled and hit the print button. Then he sent the file to Une’s personal computer. When the page finished printing , he tried to locate the hidden base. He continued to type . If this was true he had little time and both Sally and Hilde were in great danger, especially Hilde. Duo would not be pleased. Heero knew when he heard of this he would slip easily into his other personality and it would not be pretty. He typed furiously, hoping to come up with something before he had to tell WuFei and Duo.

It seemed like it had been hours since they had been thrown into the room the had been brought to. Hilde lay on the bed, with her hand lying on her belly, while Sally paced back and forth across the floor. She turned to Hilde. ”This is wrong. Something is very wrong here.”

“What is it Sally?”
She shook her head. “I don’t know, but something is ……”
The door opened to their room and Gregory stood there looking in. He smiled at them, but it was a false smile, More a grimace than a smile.

“Come. I have something to show you.”

The girls followed him out , only because of the two guards behind him.

“You wanted to know what this was all about. Well, I’ll show you.” He smiled again, that brought a shiver to Hilde. He turned to Sally as he lead them into a bright clean lab room. “What do you see here?”
Sally blinked then looked around the bright white room. She saw tables of machinery and chemicals. She saw two examination tables and Some odd equipment she had never seen before. She turned to their host and glared.” What is this all about?”

He stepped away from her and grasped Hilde’s arm. “You will see soon enough. You asked me why we needed a pregnant woman, well I’ll tell you. Up to now we have been using Humans as guinea pigs, but until now we could only use children and adults.” He turned to Hilde who’s eyes got wide and she tried to struggle out of his ever tightening grip.

“No.” She whispered, Fear filling her face, and her heart pounding in her chest.

“Yes. Now we have a woman who is pregnant by a Gundam pilot. They have abilities beyond mortal men and well, we will change the child even more. “ He turned to Hilde once more and grasped her face into his hand. “You see my dear, You will not live to see this change. We can now remove the child from you and keep it alive in that.” He pointed to a tall strange looking machine. He reached down to touch her small but not yet protruding belly. “But we will have to keep you alive a bit longer. The child is not quite ready to be removed to our chamber.” He looked over to Sally, “Now, Miss Po. I bet you are wondering what your roll in all of this is?”
Sally just glared at him. She grimaced as a guard came up behind her and poked her with the barrel of his rifle.

“What do you want of me?”
“You will help us when the time is right.”
“To kill my friend and take her baby?”
“Yes.”
“Fuck you.”
“Yes, We’ll see about that, too.”

James stood in the background and listened to the conversation. His eyes became slits as he head what Gregory had planned to do with Hilde. Hilde who had been nothing but kind to him. He growled softly. He may have been brain washed into believe the preventers had done all the bad things in his life but this woman had done nothing but help him. He resolved, no matter what he would help her and Sally Po, even if it would cost him his life.
