Pt 1

Hilde watched as Duo pulled his girlfriend close to him in the driveway. Her tinkling laughter was heard up through the window where Hilde sat and watched, trying to suppress the urge to gag. "Whatever." She said to herself and grabbed her camping backpack and gear. It was a tradition for the whole gang to go up to the mountains for a camping trip. Usually it was more of them going, but Sally and Wufei couldn't get time off. It was only going to be a one-night trip, and although she loved the camping trips, she was glad. Reason? Duo decided to bring his girlfriend on this trip. There was nothing really WRONG with her, other than she was perfect, tall, voluptuous and blonde, everything Duo wanted...*and he picked her over me* she thought bitterly. He was breaking tradition, bringing a newcomer on an age-old tradition where friends that fought a war together unite, and roasted marshmallows. She heard the honk of Heero's van pull up. He always rented one so everyone could ride together. She grudgingly threw her pack over her shoulders and trudged outside. Heero was loading Duo and Blondie- errrr Megan's things into the car. "Oh Duo I’m so excited! I've never been camping!" Megan squealed as she jumped up and down. Hilde rolled her eyes as she handed her gear to Trowa. "Hey Hil, you don't have a tent." Trowa mentioned. Duo turned to them. "Oh that's ok Hil, you can share a tent with us!" Trowa watched as Hilde's face fell. "Umm. I'll be ok." She commented. Sleep with them indeed! She'd sleep under the stars tonight, even if it stormed! Trowa shook his head and secured the rest of the belongings. Hilde smiled when she saw Relena in the passenger seat. "Hey Hilde, you ready for campout 3?" She giggled. Relena watched Duo and Megan climb in. Motioning with her eyes, Relena asked if Hilde was ok. Hilde rolled her eyes and shrugged and Relena nodded. No she wasn't ok, but there was nothing she could do. Hilde sat next to Trowa. "Where's Quatre at?" She asked. He put down his book. "Quatre had last minute business and he couldn't come. Hey, if you want to share my tent, there's room." Share a tent with Trowa? "Hey Hil, our tents big enough, you don't have to inconvenience Trowa." Duo commented. Hilde latched on to Trowa's arm as the thought of being cramped up against Duo and Megan snuggling filled her head. "It's no trouble." Trowa assured, aware of the tension coming off the little pixie next to him. "You're sure?" She asked. He nodded. "Yeah ok, thanks Trowa." Duo scowled. Why would she stay with Trowa when she didn't have to? They always shared a tent....Duo silently fumed the rest of the journey. Hilde on the other hand, was leaning in to read off of Trowa's book. She didn't take him for the mystery novel type. It was a good one though and it kept her mind off of Duo and made the drive go by faster. He was eager to share it with her, asking if she was done before he would turn the page. Lucky for them both they were equally fast readers. When they arrived, Hilde offered to help Trowa set up his tent. It was up in a matter of minutes and soon all they're belongings were tucked inside. Hilde had to laugh when she looked over at Duo, struggling alone with his tent. If he had chosen HER instead of the bimbo he was with now, then he'd have some help. She always had helped him before. Her head debated whether she should help him or not. "Hey Megan, give him a hand." She finally stated. The girl was sitting there twirling a strand of hair around her finger absently. "I don't know how." She stated. Hilde could have explained. She really could have.... but why? She just shrugged and went to talk to Relena, leaving Duo to his task - alone. Relena was tying on her hiking boots. Hilde had to admit; she would never guess Relena to be an outdoors gal. But she was and all that pampering and prissy pinkness went out the window when she was camping. Hilde loved that about her. She finished tying up her boots and winked at Hilde. "Ready to go?" She asked sassily. Heero and Trowa were arguing over which trail to take. "If we go through the King's Gateway, they have some interesting rock structures. It'd be a great place to hike through." Trowa offered. Heero shook his head. "Hn....But if we take the Garden Grove Hike, there's a waterfall at the end and we can stop there to eat lunch before heading back." Both men were at a face off. There was only one democratic and fair way to decide - Paper, Rock, Scissors. Heero won, crushing Trowa's scissors with his mighty rock. Trowa, sighed, and gave in gracefully. Hilde and Relena laughed as they slipped their packs on and started walking. After a couple hours of hiking, the group decided to take a rest. Hilde took a long drink from her flask and stared at the view. She could hear the small waterfall in the distance and wanted to keep going. Megan looked like she was about to pass out. Duo was talking in a soft babying voice to her. All that sugar was going to put her in a coma. Still, she knew deep down that if she were in Megan's shoes, she'd enjoy every minute of it. Heero came to stand next to her. "You're taking all this pretty well." He commented, looking in Duo's direction. Hilde shrugged. "Well, there's nothing I can do about it." Heero just nodded. "Duo, I’m tired, I don't want to hike anymore." Megan whined. Duo tried to be understanding, but it was hard when all he could think about was Hilde sharing Trowa's tent, how he had been exceptionally close to her this trip...*and how I’ve been so far away* he thought. It wasn't that he didn't have feelings for her, it's just that.....well he didn't know what it was. Deep down he figured it wasn't that he wanted to date her...It was that she was always there when he wanted her to be. If she was interested in someone else, then he felt he was losing something.... He knew it was selfish, but it was the truth. "I wanna go back to the tent." Megan whined and pouted. Duo gritted his teeth. He was beginning to think bringing his girlfriend along was a bad idea. He was not going to ruin the rest of this trip because of her. Stubborn as Duo was, he carried Megan on his back for the rest of the hike. The waterfall was spectacular, falling in a small cove. Duo was wheezing after dropping his girlfriend off his back. He spent the rest of lunch listening to her whine about it. The gang settled down for lunch. Hilde came to sit next to Trowa under a shady tree. "Is it really ok that I stay in your tent?" She asked hesitantly while she ate her lunch. "If it wasn't I wouldn't have offered. He looked at her and grinned. She never knew what an amazing smile he had. She cleared her throat, embarrassed for staring. Trowa looked up and noticed Duo watching them, almost glaring. "I don't think Duo wants you to sit with me." He stated simply as he finished his Peanut butter and jelly. Hilde glanced and saw the violet intense gaze. Why WAS he staring like that? "Why would he care?" She retorted. Trowa shook his head. It was obvious Duo was jealous. But he couldn't see why.... He’s the one who brought his girlfriend to a trip no one really wanted her to go on. He could have had Hilde at any time, but instead chose to string her along in case nothing better came through for him. Sometimes he'd be so disgusted at his friend. Hilde was an incredible girl. She didn't deserve to be strung along. The gang packed up and headed back. After a couple hours and some warmer clothes, Heero started up the fire while Trowa unpacked the cooking utensils for dinner. Grilled chicken and vegetables. Lots of vegetables since Trowa was a vegan. Hilde admired his dedication to animals, but she knew she could not live without a good steak once in a while. His restraint was enviable. Duo walked up to Hilde who was gathering firewood. "So, Hil.... You haven't been hanging out with me much during this trip...Are you avoiding me?" Hilde laughed. "Just because I haven't been up your butt, doesn't mean I’m avoiding you, Duo." She told him bluntly. He moved closer. "It's just...You and I always share a tent...Why are you sleeping with Trowa?" As innocent as that statement was, they both blushed. Hilde cleared her throat. "Well, you decided to bring Megan and I don't want to be crowded. I'm very thankful Trowa's willing to share." Duo made some grunting and mumbling noises as he simply muttered "Fine." And walked away. She piled the wood next to the fire and walked over to Relena, who was starting to prepare the vegetables. "Duo's just being possessive, ignore him." She commented. Hilde plopped down next to her on the bench. "He could have had me at any time and when I pay attention to Trowa he decides he wants my attention. I just don't get it." Relena raised an eyebrow, an annoying yet charming habit she picked up from Heero. "So...You're paying attention to Trowa eh?" Hilde's eyes widened at the implications. "That's not the point Relena." She scoffed, hoping to end the subject. Relena grinned. "I don't blame you Hil. If I didn't love Heero so much I would -" Hilde covered her ears. "I'm not listening! LA LA LA LA LA!" She sang to drown out Relena's statement. Relena laughed loudly. Trowa heard and came in to join them. "What's so funny?" He asked. Relena grinned and began to say "Well we were just talking about -" Hilde's eyes widened and she jumped up to cut her off. "Trowa!" She said aloud to get his attention. Once she had it she didn't know what else to say. Relena kept laughing. "We were talking about things that interested us." she finished, laughing harder at Hilde's extremely red face. Trowa noticed. "You ok?" he asked She gulped. "Umm, yeah. Hey do you have anything to drink?" Relena grinned and pulled out a large flask. "I brought some wine for dinner. Go ahead and break into it." Hilde took it and frowned. Well she was thinking more along the lines of juice...But hey wine was made of grapes....*Close enough* Her mind said and she proceeded to pour a glass. When she glanced over at Duo and Megan being snuggly by the fire one glass turned to three. She was a bundle of giggles during dinner, not drunk, but very relaxed and happy. She sat in between Trowa and Relena. Her mind left Duo and was totally focused on Trowa. Everything he said, the way he would grin or joke with Heero. It was all so charming to her suddenly and she didn't know why. She helped Heero clear the table and started rinsing the dishes while he collected trash. Relena went to grab the marshmallows and graham crackers. Heero came to kneel next to Hilde. "You've been spending a lot of time with Trowa this trip." He commented. Hilde rolled her eyes. Heero wasn't one to ease into a topic. "Yes." Was all she said. He grinned...Well as much as Heero Yuy managed a grin. "I think you two would be good together." Hilde was shocked. One, Duo was his best friend and Two, Heero never involved himself in other's affairs. "Why?" She had to ask. He shrugged and looked away. "I just do." and he went to join Relena, leaving Hilde to ponder. She glanced over at Trowa packing away the rest of the food in the coolers. Pursue Trowa? Could she? Did she want to?

Pt 2    Lemon Warning

Hilde crawled into the tent where Trowa was already settled in reading his book. He noticed her blush and grinned. "Wanna play a game?" She raised an eyebrow as she settled into her sleeping bag. "How about go fish?" He asked as he pulled out a deck of cards. She beamed. One of her favorites. "Your on!" She challenged. He shuffled and passed out the cards and they began round one. When he reached his arm out to take a card, she noticed a long jagged scar running along his shoulder. "Ouch! What happened?" She asked, pointing to it. "Oh it's nothing...It's just an old scar from a battle. It looks worse than it is." Hilde was a typical girl who found scars fascinating and incredibly sexy, especially on hot men. Unfortunately for Duo, he walked by Trowa's tent at the wrong time. He heard the voices drifting out. "Wow, it's so long! It's got to be the biggest one I’ve ever seen!" Duo's eyes bulged out of his head. "You seem pretty interested in it." Trowa joked. Duo told himself to ignore it.... *Just keep walking* he told himself. Hilde giggled. "Well what girl wouldn't take notice of such a big one? Can I touch it?" Duo found himself stalking over to the tent with the intention of throttling Trowa. "Sure." Duo unzipped the tent and stuck his head in. "Hilde?!" He said shocked and upset. His face turned beet red as he saw what was really the object of discussion. Hilde had her hand on Trowa's scar....Not...Something else. Both occupants of the tent stared back at him in surprise. Trowa caught on to what Duo must of been thinking and burst out laughing, falling onto his back and letting his head hit his pillow. Hilde slowly caught on and turned as red as Duo was. "Duo get out of here." She gritted through her teeth. He took a long look at her and gulped. He made an ass out of himself...Again. He stammered out an apology and zipped up the tent, walking stiffly back to his own tent. Hilde looked over at Trowa who was lying down, wiping the tears from his eyes. "Damn that was great." He chuckled out. Hilde just sat there, still fuming over Duo's audacity. Trowa noticed. "Aw hey now don't be mad." He coaxed. She sighed and laid on her side to talk to him. "He has some nerve." She growled. The game was forgotten. She shivered a bit and curled up. "Hey, you're really cold." Hilde nodded. "I'm always cold when I camp. I usually zip up my sleeping bag with Duo's and share body heat." Trowa sat up and started unzipping his. "What are you doing?" She asked as he pulled on her sleeping bag. "Well we can do the same thing. Except I got to warn you...I sleep naked." She gawked at him. "Are you serious?!" He nodded. "Its the best way to keep warm. I suggest you try it." With the way he was grinning at her, Hilde could swear Trowa was making a move on her...Quiet, unbelievably sexy, NAKED Trowa.... He finished zipping their bags together. "Are you going to get in?" He asked. Could she? She was so tempted to just throw open the sleeping bag and take a peek to see if he really was naked. He was from the waist up, that she could see. She slowly crawled in the combined sleeping bags and made sure not to be touching him. She heard him chuckle again. "Would you feel more comfortable if I put some pants on?" *YES!* *NO!* her mind was screaming opposite answers simultaneously. "I don't want to inconvenience you." She said simply. She tried to suppress her raging hormones. *Good god. Trowa's naked. I'm sleeping next to naked Trowa...* and then she realized with shock that she wanted to do more than just sleep.... She felt her body move closer to him. "I'm cold." She said and grinned to herself as he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer. Since she had clothes on, she couldn't tell if he really was naked or not. "Umm. You need to stop wiggling like that." Trowa said cautiously. She blushed again. So engrossed in trying to feel with her backside if he was naked she was unaware that he could feel it too. "Sorry." she squeaked out. She turned to look at him and found him staring back at her, deep green eyes shaded by his bangs. The campfire outside cast just enough light to illuminate his eyes, making them sparkle with yellow green fire between the shadow of his hair. She brushed his bangs out of his face to get a better look. His eyes spoke questions to her, questions that she didn't know how to answer. And then she realized what she wanted. She slowly brought his head down to hers and felt his soft warm lips against her. She allowed him to deepen their kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him on top of her. She couldn't stand the curiosity and very slowly let one of her hands trail down his back.... And yes he was very naked. She felt him chuckle against her neck. "Did you think I was lying?" He asked playfully, leaving soft wet kisses trailing down her neck to her shoulder. He let the strap of her tank top fall off her shoulder and kissed her there over and over, gently biting. She ran her hands up his back and into his hair, letting her fingers twist and play with the soft golden brown locks. He worked off her shirt and pants quickly, leaving her in only her underwear. His head bent to kiss her breasts, letting his tongue circle her nipples, grinning wickedly as his breath caused goosebumps to spread rapidly over her skin. "Do you want me to go any further?" He asked softly, his fingers drawing circles around her belly button. She couldn't stop...not now. She nodded and felt a moments panic as she was left totally naked. She had had sex before. This wasn't new. And yet, something was very different about what was going on...She felt euphoric. She felt beautiful. It was definitely different. She gasped as she felt his mouth between her legs. Or maybe it was the fact that Trowa knew exactly what she wanted. He let her ride the wave till she was at her peak. "Oh god, Trowa don't stop." She cried out, so close to the edge. He grinned and gently blew his breath on her, sending her over the edge. Her body spasmed at each pleasurable pulse. She took in a deep shaky breath. He was incredible. Wonderful. But she wanted more. "Keep going." She insisted. He raised an eyebrow at her. "You sure?" He asked. She nodded eagerly and pulled him back up to her. He bent down to kiss her neck at the same time as he slowly entered her. He filled her completely and waited for a second before starting a rhythmic thrusting. Her body joined him. "Damn you feel so good." He murmured against her neck. She gently ran her fingernails over his back, causing his skin to shiver. She could feel him getting closer, feeling his breath grow more ragged with each thrust until finally he let out a soft moan as he climaxed, sending a delicious pulse through her body. She held him close so he wouldn't get up after, loving the feel of him inside her. She continued to trail her nails gently over his back, grinning as goosebumps continued to pop up on his skin. "You're incredible." He whispered against her lips before claiming them in a long kiss. She couldn't of said it better herself. It was a while before they both were able to breath normally again. He slowly exited her body and pulled her close to him. She snuggled into the crook of his arm and laid her hand on his chest. "You must practice that a lot." She commented to which he kissed her forehead and laughed. "Hardly." He answered. She raised her head and looked up at his face. His eyes were closed and he had a blissfully content smile on his face. "You knew exactly how to do everything! Those things can't come natural." She pouted. Well they couldn't...Could they? He opened one eye to stare at her. "Maybe I just knew what YOU wanted. I guess it's safe to say now that I’ve liked you.... For a while now. You were just to busy to notice." She laid her head back down. Trowa liked her. And all these years She had been chasing Duo. But she hadn't thought of Duo once since she got into this tent. Actually every time she was around Trowa, he was the only one on her mind. "I'm not busy anymore." She said to which he pulled her closer. "Glad to hear it. It'd be horrible to think you only used me for sex." She burst out laughing. "Now why would I do that?" He grinned at her and ran his fingers through her raven black hair. "Why indeed."

The next morning, Trowa and Hilde couldn't hide their smiles as they went about preparing breakfast. Duo was sulking in the corner, his girlfriend whining about how cold she was and how she didn't get any sleep. Relena nudged Hilde as she was mixing the batter for some pancakes. "Oooo Someone's glowing....So......I see you took my subtle hints about Trowa." Hilde rolled her eyes. "You're never subtle... And your boyfriend is even LESS subtle. Still it was good advice I couldn't ignore." Relena scooted in closer, a wicked look on her face. "So...tell me everything. Was he good? How big was his - " Hilde covered Relena's mouth with her hand. "Relena! That's none of your business.... Hey wait how did you know?" Heero casually walked by and muttered something under his breath. Hilde blushed brightly as his words reached her ears "Oh god Trowa don't stop." He mimicked in her voice. Relena burst out laughing. "That's all we heard before we turned on our radio. I take it Duo heard it too..." She turned to glance at the sulking braided boy and shrugged. "His problem." Relena smiled, happy to hear her friend say that. Hilde grinned back wickedly and said loud enough for Duo to hear. "Well shit if I knew we had such an audience I would of said more...Louder!" Trowa shook his head and smiled. Hilde left Relena to come up behind Trowa and wrap her arms around him. "Louder, huh?" He asked amused. She didn't bother to look to see if Duo noticed. Her hand reached up to play with the back of his hair. "Maybe..." He turned to her and put his hands on her hips, holding her close, but not against him. "You probably have feelings for Duo still and I can understand, but I have to know...Where do I stand with you?" She sighed and brushed his bangs out of his face only to watch them fall back into place over his eyes. "Duo was a silly infatuation. I didn't realize til yesterday what an idiot I was being." She reached out and pulled him against her, resting her chin on his chest as she stared up at him. "I want you. I want to start over and have a new beginning with just you. No one else is on my mind." He grinned and bent down to kiss her. "I think I can work with that." he joked before they went back to finish making breakfast. Hilde forgot about Duo that day, and although he was still her best friend, her heart belonged to Trowa. It was the fresh start she needed and she was enjoying the start of a new chapter in her life.
