Akane tried to calm her breathing before opening the 
door of her room.
 
"Wow, Akane! You look stunning!" Ranma said looking at 
her from head to toe. For that special night, she was 
wearing white sandals and her favorite sundress, the 
blue one with hazel flowers printed on it.
 
"Thanks, but you look pretty good yourself!" she said 
noticing how handsome he was in black pants and white 
shirt.
 
"Shall we go?" he asked offering his arm.
 
"Sure." she answered linking her arm with his'.

The restaurant Ranma had chosen was very romantic. The 
tables were settled under a porch on the beach, the 
waves that broke on the seashore were a natural 
background sound and the flames of the candles on the 
tables burned quietly.
 
"Ranma, this place is wonderful!" Akane said sitting in 
a chair a waiter was holding for her.
 
"Only the best for you." he answered.
 
"It must be very expansive!"
 
"Don't worry! You know it's our first real date. Is it 
wrong if I want it to be special?"
 
"No, not at all. I love the idea of being here, with 
you, it's only that the place seemed a little out of our
price range, but if you say to not worry, I won't."
 
"Good. Then again, I managed to save more money than you
think from Nabiki's reach." he said winking.
 
"Watch what you say. She is my sister after all!" she 
said giggling.
 
"Yeah, my sister-in-law..." then he stopped shortly 
watching her smile, he took her hand in his and kissed 
it.

Kasumi was bored, very bored. Tonight she had nothing to
do, the other nights she had had the fathers to take 
care of, but tonight they were at the Casino and she was
left all alone.
 
<I'll phone to Ono-chan!> she thought walking towards 
the telephone phone. She dialed the clinic's number, 
but after many rings nobody answered, so she decided to 
call his cell.
 
"Moshi moshi."
 
"Ono! Where are you?"
 
"Kasumi! I've just visited a patient at his house! How 
are you?"
 
"Fine, but I miss you. A lot."
 
"I miss you, too. Two days more and you'll be here in 
Tokyo with me."
 
"Are you working a lot?"
 
"Yes, a lot. How are your sisters doing?"
 
"They are out with their boyfriends. I'm a little 
envious, you know?"
 
"Do you want to go out tonight?" a voice behind her 
asked.
 
Kasumi turned around to see Dr. Tofu smiling lovingly at
her.
 
"Ono-chan!" she yelled putting her arms around his neck.
 
"Do you like the surprise?" he asked stroking her hair 
and breathing in her perfume.
 
"How come you are here? You said you had too much work!"
 
"Yes, I did. Then I asked a friend of mine to help me, I
closed the clinic and took the first airplane here."
 
"I love you!"
 
"I love you, too."
 
"Let's go! I want to show you Saipan!" with this said, 
she dragged him through the streets of Saipan.

After dinner Akane asked Ranma to walk back to the hotel
trough the beach, so the two were walking slowly on the
sand holding hands. Akane was holding her sandals with 
her free hand, because she wanted to walk with her feet
in the water. They were talking quietly, until she said
something that startled him.
 
"Kasumi and Tofu engaged for five years?"
 
"Yes, they hide it well, don't they?"
 
"Why do they hide?"
 
"In the beginning it was for my crush on Dr. Tofu, then
it was for father. You know him, if he knew that she is
engaged she would be married in 30 seconds!"
 
"What are they waiting for?"
 
"She promised to herself to wait 'til me and Nabiki 
found someone to count on, a husband or something of the
like."
 
"She is a very good girl."
 
"She sure is. I think her task will come to an end soon,
though." she said blushing a little. "Now that I've got 
you. We just have to pray that Nabiki will take this boy
seriously, this time. She has been impish with boys in 
the past, you know?"
 
"Nabiki? Has she had many boyfriends?"
 
"More than one without a doubt. She wants to be the 
center of the attention. I was so scared when she wanted
to be your fiancée!"
 
"Me too. Believe me." he said with a shrug.
 
"Do you want to sit down?" she asked.
 
"Ok."
 
"I love the scent of the sea and the sound of the waves 
at night, they gave me a sense of...infinite."
